Bizarre was a French arts magazine published by Eric Losfeld in 1953 and then handed over to Jean-Jacques Pauvert after the former had edited only two issues. Roger Cornaille was instrumental in its creation.
In Endetté comme une mule ou la passion d’éditer Eric Losfeld writes: "at the moment when Ferry still held maximum fascination over me, we decided to launch a periodical. Everybody contributed to the launch, Roger Cornaille, Jean Ferry, Ado Kyrou, Michel Laclos, Michel Seldow and Jacques Sternberg; they all had the impression that they were mistaken launching a surrealist periodical. So, not surrrealist, but Bizarre. But as it names indicates, still very much geared towards the strange, one does not exclude the other, after all). [1]
