The album was recorded on 29 July 1968 in the musicians' village in Morocco and released on the Rolling Stones' own record label, Rolling Stones Records, Catalogue No COC 49100, and distributed by ATCO, a division of "Atlantic Recording Corporation, Musidor, N.V." in 1971.
