Grupo Folklorico Y Experimental Nuevayorquino is an American Latin jazz ensemble active in the 1970s and 1980s, releasing records via Salsoul Records. The group consisted of brothers Andy and Jerry Gonzalez (trumpet & percussion), Manny Oquendo (timbales), Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros (trumpet), Virgilio Martí (vocals), Oscar Hernandez (piano), Nelson Gonzalez (tres guitar), Milton Cardona (bata), and Reinaldo Jorge (trombone) and they were influenced by Rene Lopez.
They made two records: Concepts in Unity (1975), and Lo Dice Todo (1976).
The band members were: Jerry and Andy Gonzalez, Frankie Rodríguez, Milton Cardona, Gene Golden, Carlos Mestre, Nelson González, Manny Oquendo, Oscar Hernandez, José Rodríguez, Gonzalo Fernández, Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros, Willy García, Heny Álvarez, Virgilio Martí, Marcelino Guerra, Rubén Blades, Orlando "Puntilla" Rios and Julito Collazo.
