Madame Edwarda is a story by Georges Bataille published posthumously. Bataille wrote it under the pseudonym, Pierre Angélique. In his preface, Bataille quotes Hegel: "Death is the most terrible of all things; and to maintain its works is what requires the greatest of all strength."
There is an edition of Madame Edwarda illustrated by Hans Bellmer.
It is available in an English language edition titled My Mother, Madame Edwarda and The Dead Man.
