George Grosz's (1893 – 1959) oeuvre includes a few absurdist works, such as the painting/collage "Remember Uncle August the Unhappy Inventor"[1] which has buttons sewn on it.
It is dated 1919 consists of, oil and graphite on canvas with photomontage and collage of papers and buttons.
