The Unholy Trinity is seen in Christian eschatology as the exact opposite of the Holy Trinity that represents God the Father, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The Unholy Trinity represents Satan, Antichrist, and the False Prophet united in will and purpose in direct opposition to the Holy Trinity. In the book of Revelation, chapter 13, the unholy trinity is described; Satan (the dragon) acts as the first person of the trinity, bringing a beast from the sea (the second person of the trinity) and healing him from a fatal wound (a counterfeit of the resurrection of Jesus Christ), and then a second beast (the third person of the trinity) comes from the earth whose job it is to make people worship the first beast.

In The Sandman, a series of graphic novels, as well as in Hellblazer, have appeared a type of "Unholy Trinity", called "the Triumvirate of Hell". It is composed with the fallen angel Lucifer, and the demons Azazel and Beelzebub. They have been defeated by John Constantine, when he wanted to cure his lung cancer and save the soul of his friend, in the "Dangerous Habits" story arc.
