"The ‘Adonis from Chernitz’ was found in 2003 near Leipzig. The figure was made from clay around 7,200 years ago. Another fragment, thought to be the thigh of a woman, was found at the same site. Archaeologists speculate that the two figures may have been used together to depict the act of copulation."

Als Adonis von Zschernitz wird die am 19. August 2003 am Ortsrand von Zschernitz (Lkr. Delitzsch, Sachsen) bei Ausgrabungsarbeiten in einer Siedlungsgrube gefundene Tonfigur aus der Jungsteinzeit bezeichnet. Die Figur ist zwischen 5.200−5.100 v. Chr. in der jüngeren Linienbandkeramik hergestellt worden und damit die älteste Tonfigur Mitteleuropas mit eindeutig männlichen Geschlechtsmerkmalen.
