Aegidius Sadeler (sometimes written Egidius, or Gilles) (c. 1570 - 1629) was a Flemish Northern Mannerist painter and engraver; the best (Hind) of a notable dynasty of engravers, who were also significant as dealers and distributors of prints. He spent most of his career based in Prague, where Emperor Rudolf II commissioned many of his works, and he lived for some time in the house of Bartholomeus Spranger, whose works he engraved .
Aegidius Sadeler engraved a print version of Tintoretto's painting of the Massacre of the Innocents. He collaborated with Jacobus Typotius on the Prague emblem book, Symbola Divina et Humana. He was the nephew of Raphael Sadeler, and the brother of Jan Sadeler. His son Marco Sadeler was also a well known Dutch engraver in the early 17th century.
