On May 14, 2019, Alabama passed the most restrictive anti-abortion laws in the country, banning the procedure at any stage of pregnancy unless there is a "serious health risk", with no exceptions for rape and incest. Doctors who perform abortions may receive 10 to 99 years imprisonment.
