Charles Reginald Dawes (1879-1964) was a collector of erotica, bibliographer and writer, he wrote under the pseudonym C. R. Dawes.
He is the author of A Study of Erotic Literature in England, Considered with Special Reference to Social Life.
He wrote bibliographic studies of Restif de la Bretonne and the Marquis de Sade.
After his death in 1964, his collection, among which one of the rare copies of My Secret Life, was beqeathed to the British Museum library, and chiefly placed in the Private Case.
