Carry On Emmannuelle is the 29th Carry On film, and was released in 1978. This was the last Carry On film to be made before the series was resurrected in 1992 with Carry On Columbus.
The film featured a change in style, becoming more openly sexual (especially in the frequent nudity of Danielle) than previous films, bringing it somewhat more into line with the then popular series of X-rated Confessions... comedies, or indeed the official Emmanuelle films it parodies. This was the first film in the series to be certified AA by the then British Board of Film Censors thus restricting audiences to those aged fourteen and over. It was not a great commercial success upon release.
Plot summary
The beautiful Emmannuelle Prevert just cannot get her own husband into bed. A spoof of Emmanuelle, the film revolves around the eponymous heroine and her unsuccessful attempts to make love to her husband Emile, a French ambassador. Emile grants Emmanuelle permission to sleep with anyone she likes, and her promiscuity turns her into a celebrity and a frequent talk show guest.
Meanwhile, Theodore Valentine is besotted with her and wants them to get married. But Emmanuelle is obsessed with arousing her husband's sexual desire at almost any cost.
