Closed Circuit (Circuito chiuso) is a 1978 Italian crime film directed by Giuliano Montaldo. It was entered into the 28th Berlin International Film Festival.

The film has a very literal interpretation of breaking the fourth wall. The central scene takes place at the cinema. A cowboy in a Western film points his gun to the theatre, shoots point blank (much like in The Great Train Robbery) and kills a member of the audience.

When examined by the police, the projection screen reveals a small bullet hole .

When the film is screened again, each time someone else is shot, even a policeman who knows the shot is coming (the on-screen cowboy merely adjusts his aim).

The killer of the film within the film is Giuliano Gemma, the footage is from A Sky Full of Stars for a Roof.
