Kythira (Cythera, Kythera,) is an island of Greece, historically part of the Ionian Islands. In Ancient Greek Mythology, Kythira was considered to be the island of celestial Aphrodite, the Goddess of love, (cf. Cyprus, the island of Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love).
