"IN the Musée de Cluny in Paris are to be seen two blocks of granite. They are 'foundation-stones' of the famous Hotel de Rambouillet. One bears an inscription to the effect that the mansion of which they were once a part was built by the 'high and powerful lord 'Maitre Charles d'Angennes, Marquis de Rambouillet and Pisany."--Hôtel de Rambouillet and the Précieuses (1900) by Leon H.
