The term decamerotico is commonly used to describe a group of softcore Italian erotic films, mostly set in late medieval Italy and narrates mainly sexual adventures of the people and/or the clergy. These films enjoyed with great success in Italy in the 1970s.

Some fifty films were brought to the market in Italy between 1972 and 1976, the peak of production was 1972, when over 30 films were distributed in Italy.

One of the most successful films in the genre was Quel gran pezzo dell'Ubalda tutta nuda e tutta calda (1972)

Pier Paolo Pasolini's role in the genre was evident in his trilogy of life:

A recent revival of this genre was Virgin Territory (2007).
