Princess Diana Kotchoubey de Beauharnais was born on 4 June 1918 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She is the daughter of Prince Eugene Kotchoubey de Beauharnais and Helen Geraldine Pearce.

She married, firstly, Georges Snopko on 13 May 1939. She married, secondly, Georges Bataille in 1945.

From 13 May 1939, her married name became Snopko. From 1945, her married name became Bataille.

Kotchoubey is a Tartar name from the south.
