Dick Raaijmakers (born, Maastricht, 1 september 1930) is a Dutch composer, theatre-maker, theorist and one of the pioneers in electronic music in the Netherlands. Raaijmakers composed many works under the pseudonym Kid Baltan.
From 1954 to 1960 he ran a lab in electro-acoustic experimentation at Philips Electronics in Eindhoven. He was a scientific researcher at Utrecht University in 1960 - 1962 and worked with Jan Boerman at the electronic music studio in The Hague from 1963 to 1966. He taught electronic and contemporary music at the Royal Conservatory (Koninklijk Conservatorium) in The Hague from 1966 until his retirement in 1995. He also taught in the faculty of Science and Art at the same institute from 1991 onwards.
A recently published Dutch monograph is due to come out in English this year.
