Elena Filipovic is an art critic and independent curator based in Brussels and completing a Ph.D. in art history at Princeton University. She was assistant curator for Utopia Station (50th Venice Biennale 2003 and Haus der Kunst, Munich, 2004) and Do You Believe in Reality?(Taipei Biennial, Taipei, 2004). She contributes regularly to Frieze and has published articles in Surrealism, Politics and Culture, Perfect magazine, Artpress, and Domus. Most recently, she curated Ideal Standard (Brussels, 2004) and co-edited The Manifesta Decade: Debates on Contemporary Art Exhibitions and Biennials in Post-Wall Europe (Roomade and MIT Press, 2005).
