Elle Nicolaï is a California artist who creates transcendental paintings, symbolic drawings on paper, and spiritual photography. She believes in healing, transformation, and uplifting in consciousness through transpersonal art.

Born in France, she has lived in the United States all of her adult life.

Her artwork is reminiscent of the Transcendental Painting Group co-founded by Raymond Jonson and Emil Bisttram, the Visionary Art School with Morris Graves, and other esoteric artists such as David Paladin and Remedios Varo.

The images and glyphs that appear in her paintings take form during the dream state and meditation. Her ethereal digital photographs capture ephemeral light impressions. Elle Nicolai refers to her body of work as “Alchemies of the TransVisible.”

She has been exhibited at galleries throughout North America, from Chelsea, and Soho in New York, to Boston, Florida, Canada, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco.
