Getting drunk on a glass of water is a concept made famous by Deleuze and Guattari who quoted Henry Miller:
- "Arriver a se saouler, mais a l'eau pure.... Arriver a se droguer mais par abstention, prendre et s'abstenir, surtout s'abstenir" (Deleuze & Guattari 1980: 350)
It is from Henry Miller's Sexus :
- "You never saw anybody get drunk on water, eh? Well, watch me!"
