Edith Templeton's novel Gordon first appeared in 1966 under a pseudonym was banned for its sexual content in England and Germany but was picked up two years later by Olympia Press. The novel was reissued under her own name only in 2003.

Plot

The story is of Louisa, a woman in postwar London who falls into a submissive relationship with a psychiatrist, Richard Gordon. Gordon has increasingly rough sex with Louisa. Louisa is obsessed with him. Templeton's study of submission has been called psychologically acute.
