ZXZW is a festival for independent culture, music, film, theatre and visual arts, held in Tilburg, a small town in The Netherlands, since 2005.

In 2005 ZXZW started as an underground punk, hardcore and electronic festival, organised by the musicians Vincent Koreman, Frank Kimenai, Ries Doms and Alex van Wijk. Nowadays it features a wide range of music as well as film, lectures and visual arts, all happening in small clubs, pubs and galleries.

ZXZW 2005

The first edition of the ZXZW festival, between September 24 and September 25, featured 49 acts and was organized with only €400 subsidy.

The second festival was between September 23 and September 24 and featured more than 80 acts. Over 1600 tickets were sold Template:Fact.

The next ZXZW festival was between September 22 and September 23. It had another increase of the program: more than 120 acts played at the festival Template:Fact.

Geschichte

Angefangen hat das Incubate als Musikfestival „ZXZW“, mit Schwerpunkte Hardcore, Metal, Noise und Punk. Seid dem zweiten Festival sind Bildende Kunst, Film und viele Musikgenres wie Folk, Hip-Hop, Garage Rock, Dubstep, Techno, Kuduru, Cumbia, Free Jazz und viele mehr dazu gekommen. Seid 2009 hat Incubate jedes Jahr während des Festivals auch ein Diskussionsforum veranstaltet. Der Name „ZXWZ“ wurde 2009 nach einer Klage vom SXSW-Festival zu Incubate verändert. Incubate findet in verschiedenen Clubs, Kneipen und Galerien in die Innenstadt von Tilburg statt. 2012 besuchten 15000 Fans das einwöchige Festival.
