John Rewald (May 12, 1912February 2, 1994 was a German-born American art historian, scholar of Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, and Paul Cézanne.

Rewald was one of the first professional art historians to focus on the birth of early modern art, publishing Post-Impressionism: From Van Gogh to Gauguin in 1956
