The Journal pour rire (Lit. Eng. "The journal for laughter") is a French illustrated newspaper publication founded on February 5 1848 by Charles Philipon. It ceased publication in et 1855. In 1856, it was replaced by Le Journal amusant (of which it is the continuation) and by Le petit journal pour rire which is the "popular" version, smaller and cheaper.
