Red Forest Pines Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Ukraine Formerly the Worm Wood Forest, refers to the trees growing in the 10 km2 surrounding the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and is one of several of the Chernobyl disaster effects on 26 April 1986. The name 'Red Forest' comes from the ginger brown colour of the pine trees after they died following the absorption of high levels of radiation.
TV-eken Oak Stockholm, Sweden The TV-oak or TV-eken was a tree in front of the offices of Sveriges Television. It was felled in 2011 despite a massive campaign to preserve it.
