Liverpool is a city and metropolitan borough in Merseyside, England. As of 2018.
The city is closely associated with the arts, particularly music; the popularity of the Beatles, who are regarded as the most influential band in history, contributed to the city's status as a tourist destination.

Music
Liverpool has a lengthy tradition of music both classical and pop. It is well known for The Beatles (who recorded 17 UK and 20 US number-one singles). Its pop and rock music scene has also been important in the development of a number of other bands and artists since the 1950s.
