Matthew Marks is an art gallery located in the New York City neighborhood of Chelsea. It is among America's most influential gallery spaces. Alex Mar in New York Magazine described it as "an A-list spot for international contemporary artists.” Founded in the early 1990s by Matthew Marks, it specializes in modern and contemporary art in a variety of media: including painting, sculpture, photography, installation art, film, and drawings and prints. It represents a broad spectrum of artists from established figures like Ellsworth Kelly and Jasper Johns to a younger generation of artists like Andreas Gursky and Nan Goldin. The gallery has three exhibition spaces in the city at 523 W. 24 St., 522 W. 22 St., and 521 W. 21 St.
