Monsieur Hawarden is a feature film by Belgian director Harry Kümel released in 1969, based on the historical novel by Filip De Pillecijn about the life of transvestite Meriora Gillibrand.

Argument

A Parisian lady is in love with two men. During a duel in Vienna, the preferred one dies and the young girl revenges herself by killing the jealous one. To escape from the police, she disguises herself as a man and assumes the persona of Monsieur Hawarden. She moves to Ligneuville, near Malmedy where her grave is still to be found.
