The Mosaic of the Philosophers[1] (first century A.D.) is a Roman mosaic discovered at Torre Annunziata (Pompeii) now housed at the Naples National Archaeological Museum. It depicts seven philosophers sitting around a sphere. It is the object of a chapter in Sloterdijk's Spheres.
