Nanci Caroline Griffith (July 6, 1953 – August 13, 2021) was an American singer-songwriter, raised in Austin, Texas, who lived in Nashville, Tennessee.

She worked predominantly in country, folk, and what she termed "folkabilly."

She is known for such songs as "From a Distance" (1982) and "It's a Hard Life Wherever You Go" (1989).
