Patricia Olive Kavanagh (January 31, 1940 in Durban - 20 October 2008 in London) was a South African born distinguished British literary agent.
She was married to, and was the literary agent of, writer Julian Barnes. They lived in North London.
She was famously the ex-agent of Martin Amis, who left her after 23 years to 'throw in his lot' with American agent, Andrew Wylie, nicknamed the Jackal. The decision is believed to have been the end of Amis's friendship with Barnes.
Jeanette Winterson's novel Written on the Body is said to have some basis in her affair with Kavanagh.
She died of a brain tumour on 20 October 2008.
