"People Funny Boy" (1968) is a musical composition by Lee "Scratch" Perry. After his business relationship with Joe Gibbs went sour, Perry had published it on his newly formed label Upsetter Records in 1968. "People Funny Boy" was his first single and sold very well. It is notable for its innovative use of a sample (a crying baby) as well as a fast, chugging beat that would soon become identifiable as "reggae" (the new sound did not really have a name at this time).
People Funny Boy is also the title of a biography on Lee Perry written by David Katz, published in 2000.
