Orleans Collection

Philippe Charles d'Orléans, petit-fils de France, Duke of Orléans (Saint-Cloud, 2 August 1674 - Versailles, 2 December 1723), was a member of the royal family of France and served as Regent of the Kingdom from 1715 to 1723. The duke assembled the Orléans Collection, one of the finest collections of paintings ever made by a non-monarch, which was mostly sold in London after the French Revolution.
