Pornography and the law: The psychology of erotic realism and pornography (1959) is a book by Phyllis and Eberhard Kronhausen published by Ballantine Books. The book is concerned with the relationship of erotic literature and its various censorships and has a foreword by Theodor Reik.

This book would be the first of a long line of sex-related books by the Kronhausens. Pornography and the Law made a distinction between "frankly pornographic writings" and "serious" (but not necessarily less erotic) writings, such as the works of Henry Miller or D.H. Lawrence.

Key words and phrases include Fanny Hill, erotic literature, erotica, Lady Chatterley's Lover, homosexual, Samuel Pepys, Brantome, Mark Twain, Frank Harris, Professors Lockhart, defloration, D. H. Lawrence, cunnilingus, erotic realism, American Law Institute, Henry Miller, flagellation, derry, Theodor Reik
