"Science is [...] politics by other means" is a dictum by Bruno Latour first recorded in Pasteur: Guerre et paix des microbes (1984) as "la science, c’est la politique continuée par d’autres moyens". In the English translation it reads: "Science is [...] politics by other means" (p. 229).
The dictum is a variation of "war is the continuation of politics by other means" by Carl von Clausewitz.
It was appropriated without credit in Sandra Harding's book Whose Science? Whose Knowledge? (1991).
