"Science it would seem is not sexless; she is a man, a father and infected too" is a dictum by Virginia Woolf from Three Guineas. It was lauded in Ruth Bleier Feminist Approaches to Science (1986).

The dictum is accompanied by reports of antifeminism in Bertrand Russell from The Scientific Outlook (1931): "The views of medical men on pregnancy, child-birth, and lactation were until fairly recently impregnated with sadism."
