Sentimental cartography was the practice of making sentimental maps, popular in the 17th century and beyond.
The genre is exemplified by the Carte de Tendre (1654) or Gulliver's Travels. Another example is the 1663 imaginary allegorical travel-memoir Voyage de l'isle d'amour (Voyage to the isle of love) by French writer Paul Tallement the Younger.
There is also Das Reich der Liebe by Johann Gottlob Immanuel Breitkopf .
