Sinéad O'Connor (1966 - 2023) was an Irish songwriter and singer best-known for her interpretation of "Nothing Compares 2 U " (1990).

In 1992 she caused a stir when unexpectedly tearing up a photograph of Pope John Paul II on live television after having song "War" (1976) by Bob Marley.
