Det nya landet - The New Country

Nagot nytt.

Det nya landet.

There’s no way back, Sweden will never be what it once was.

Europe is changing and Sweden is needed as a safe space for people who seek refuge.

Now we must look forward and find a way to live side by side.

It's time to realize that new Swedes will claim their space.

And bring their culture, language and customs and it's time to see this as a positive force.

To be Swedish must me more than skin color and place of birth, it must be you, me and everyone together.

It's not only new swedes that need to integrate, everyone needs to integrate, even established Swedes.

Integration is about mutual understanding.

Let us create a future that is based on equal parts reality and belief in the future.

Let us build a country where we put fear an hate aside.

We all have the new country within us, in our worldview, thoughts and actions.

It is time to create a country together that is proud, inclusive and sustainable.

Something new -- The New Country.

"It is time to realize that new immigrants will take the place of culture, language and customs, and it is time to see it as a positive force. The new country is about to shape a new future. Being Swedish needs to be more than skin color and place of birth. It needs to be you, me and everyone together. It is not just new immigrants to integrate. All need to be integrated, also established the Swedes. Integration does not mean that one party should adapt to the other, or that everyone should think, do and feel equal. Integration is about reciprocity."[1]

Google translate of the above:

The new country is a call to create a better Sweden, a country that is proud, inclusive and sustainable. It is a call for both established and new Swedes that we must all be integrated. We will no longer divide each other into we and them. Instead, we will find ways forward, and create the conditions for living together. Join us in creating the New Country!
