Stephen J. Gertz (c. 1952) is an American book collector and trader who began in the trade in 1985. He later became manager and head cataloguer at William Dailey Rare Books in Los Angeles, and is now Executive Director of David Brass Rare Books in Calabasas, CA. He is currently Vice-Chair of the Southern California Chapter of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America. His writing has been published by Feral House, The Disinformation Company, the Los Angeles Times, Fine Books & Collections, L.A. Review, and various online magazines.

Stephen J. Gertz is a connoisseur of paraliterary practices. He has contributed to Sin-A-Rama, a book on sleazy American paperbacks, and Everything You Know About Sex Is Wrong published by Disinfo.
