The Sunset Strip curfew riots, also known as the "hippie riots," were a series of clashes that took place between police and young people on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California, beginning in the mid-1960s and continuing through the early 1970s.

One such riot in the summer of 1966 provided the basis for the teen exploitation film, Riot on Sunset Strip — as well as for the Buffalo Springfield song, For What It's Worth, which is often mistakenly labelled an antiwar protest song, and The Monkees song, Daily Nightly, written by Michael Nesmith.
