Controversy

The 700 Club has occasionally been the subject of controversy due to political statements made on the show by Pat Robertson (see Robertson's page for a more in-depth discussion of controversies that surround him).

Often, controversy centers around subjects of homosexuality, religion and politics. The LGBT community has expressed concern over the comments made on his show, fearing that it will invoke a violent reaction from potentially unstable individuals.

Some remark that the show's host, Pat Robertson, has committed hate crimes by 'callously' preaching personal opinions, and not those of the Bible. These opinions often target minority groups and counter-cultures. The show is considered by opponents as a form of fanaticism, with a potentially dangerous message.
