The Beastie Boys are a an American musical ensemble known for compositions such as "Cooky Puss" (1983) and "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)" (1986).
They have enjoyed international critical acclaim and commercial success since their start in 1979. They are one of the longest lived hip-hop acts, whose rock-and-punk-influenced rap has had a significant impact on artists in and outside of the hip hop community. Their recordings and live performances often include MCing, funk, jazz and rock.
