The Detroit Experiment is a studio project headed by Carl Craig, releasing recordings on Ropeadope records.

The project consists of Carl Craig, Joseph Fiddler, Bennie Maupin, Marcus Belgrave, Geri Allen, Regina Carter, Perry Hughes, Ron Otis, Allan Barnes, Karriem Riggins, Jaribu Shahid, Al Turner and Francisco Mora Catlett.
