The Fan (1981) is a film after his novel of the same name) directed by Edward Bianchi.
It tells the story of an obsessed fan and stars Lauren Bacall, Michael Biehn and James Garner.
The film received a lot of attention because it was released a few months after the murder of John Lennon, who was shot to death by Mark David Chapman, a former fan.
