The Hissing of Summer Lawns is a 1975 album by Joni Mitchell. Fans and critics regard this as an artistic turning point, and the beginning of her unique blend of folk, jazz and rock. The LP featured the track "The Jungle Line", which mixed traditional African drumming and synthesiser. For this recording, Mitchell was accompanied by the musical group the Royal Drummers of Burundi, who were visiting America at the time.
