The Key of Dreams (La Clé des songes) is the title of a series of three paintings by René Magritte made between 1930 and 1936.
The paintings illustrate an incongruity between the visual and verbal.

English version
The wooden framed quadtych of a horse, clock, pitcher and suitcase, are incorrectly labeled “the door”, “the wind”, “the bird”, “the valise” respectively.
It is on the cover of the original edition of John Berger’s Ways of Seeing.
