MC5 was an American band active between 1964 and 1972 consisting of Wayne Kramer, Fred "Sonic" Smith (guitars) Michael Davis (bass), Rob Tyner (vocals) and Dennis Thompson (drums).
The widely-covered "Kick Out the Jams" (1969) is their best-known song.
