"The Mexican" is a piece of heavy rock music by the British band Babe Ruth, first released in 1972. The song is based on the whistling from the music soundtrack by Ennio Morricone for the film For a Few Dollars More. It has been compiled, covered and mixed many times. "Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambaataa features an interpolation of a portion of the song. A disco cover of Babe Ruth's classic "The Mexican" appeared in the late 70's, performed by Canadian outfit the Bombers . This version inspired an electro/freestyle cover produced by John Jellybean Benitez in 1984. It was a huge underground dance hit.
