"Die Stunde der Geburt" (English: The Moment of Birth)[1] (c. 1901/02) is an engraving by Alfred Kubin.

Interpretation
This print was probably influenced by two significant events in Kubin's life. His mother died when he was 10 and when he was 11 he had a sexual relationship with a heavily pregnant woman. That woman was his step-mother (who was also his mother's sister), she died in childbirth.
